ChromVoid Terms of Service and End User License Agreement
Last updated: May 13, 2026
These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ChromVoid apps, browser extensions, websites, downloadable software, checkout, licensing, relay, wake, analytics, support, and related services (collectively, "ChromVoid").
These Terms are between you and ChromVoid LLC ("ChromVoid," "we," "us," or "our"). ChromVoid LLC is registered in the Republic of Armenia with tax identification number (INN) 00547251 and state registration number 999.110.1581079. ChromVoid LLC was registered on May 7, 2026. ChromVoid LLC's registered address is: [registered address to be inserted before publication].
If we publish a translated version of these Terms, the English version is the source of truth unless we explicitly say otherwise.
These Terms are a legal agreement. They are not legal, security, or operational advice.
1. Acceptance
You accept these Terms when you download, install, access, activate, purchase, or use ChromVoid, or when you click or otherwise take an action that indicates acceptance where an acceptance control is shown.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use ChromVoid.
If you use ChromVoid for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. In that case, "you" means both you and that organization.
2. Eligibility
You may use ChromVoid only if:
- you are at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live, whichever is higher;
- you can enter into a binding agreement;
- your use is not prohibited by applicable law, sanctions, export-control rules, platform rules, or these Terms; and
- you are not barred from using ChromVoid by any applicable authority or service provider rule.
ChromVoid is not directed to children.
3. What ChromVoid Is
ChromVoid is a local-first encrypted vault for passwords, files, notes, passkeys, OTP data, SSH keys, wallet secrets, and other user-managed secrets.
ChromVoid license accounts are used for license recovery, entitlement sync, and cross-platform Pro activation. They are not cloud vault accounts. Vault encryption and decryption are designed to happen on your devices. Optional services such as checkout, licensing, account recovery, relay, remote connectivity, wake, waitlist, analytics, and support may process limited service data as described in the ChromVoid Privacy Policy.
ChromVoid can include:
- desktop and mobile apps;
- browser extensions;
- local Core software and WebView UI;
- command-line or helper tools;
- device pairing, sync, relay, wake, and remote-connectivity features;
- checkout, license activation, license status, and license reset flows;
- websites, landing pages, documentation, and support channels.
Some features may be free. Some features may require a paid license, app-store entitlement, or another purchase channel.
4. Local-First Security and User-Owned Recovery Risk
ChromVoid is designed so that ChromVoid LLC does not collect, receive, or have access to vault contents, master passwords, decrypted files, passkeys, passwords, OTP seeds, SSH keys, wallet secrets, biometric templates, local autofill secrets, browser extension secrets, or local device vault data by default.
ChromVoid cannot decrypt your local vault for you. If you lose the credentials, keys, passphrases, recovery material, device access, local backups, or other material needed to open a vault, ChromVoid generally cannot recover that vault.
You are responsible for:
- choosing and protecting strong vault passwords, master passwords, passphrases, and recovery material;
- protecting your devices, operating-system accounts, browser profiles, local backups, and hardware security settings;
- understanding that deleting, corrupting, losing, or failing to back up local vault data may permanently prevent access;
- keeping your operating system, browser, and ChromVoid installation updated;
- deciding whether ChromVoid is appropriate for your threat model and operational practices; and
- not sending secrets, passwords, private keys, seed phrases, recovery material, or decrypted vault contents to support channels.
5. License to Use ChromVoid Software
Subject to these Terms and any applicable open-source licenses, ChromVoid grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the downloadable or object-code portions of ChromVoid for lawful personal or internal business use.
This license does not let you:
- sell, sublicense, lease, rent, or commercially host ChromVoid unless a separate written agreement allows it;
- bypass license activation, entitlement checks, rate limits, security controls, or paid-feature gates;
- use ChromVoid services to interfere with, overload, scan, attack, or disrupt systems;
- remove proprietary notices from commercial or proprietary components;
- use ChromVoid trademarks, logos, or brand assets except as allowed by written brand rules or applicable law;
- use proprietary service code, relay infrastructure, backend code, paid features, or internal business assets outside the rights expressly granted to you; or
- use ChromVoid in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.
6. Open-Source Components
ChromVoid uses a mixed-license model. Some components are licensed under AGPL-3.0-only, some under permissive licenses such as MIT or ISC, and some backend, relay, paid-feature, and business assets are commercial or proprietary.
The path-level source-of-truth for repository licensing is ChromVoid Licensing. When a package manifest or license file declares its own license, that declaration controls for that package.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you receive directly under an applicable open-source license. If these Terms conflict with a mandatory right granted by an applicable open-source license for a specific component, the open-source license controls for that component.
Commercial or proprietary components are not licensed under AGPL, MIT, ISC, or another open-source license merely because they are distributed near, communicate with, or are documented alongside open-source components.
7. Pro LDL License
ChromVoid Pro may be sold as a one-time Lifetime Device License ("LDL") for the pro_app feature set.
Unless the checkout, app-store listing, or written purchase terms say otherwise:
- one Pro LDL covers up to 3 active ChromVoid Core devices;
- a Core device means a local ChromVoid Core instance used for license activation and protected operations;
- desktop and mobile clients connected to the same licensed Core are not separate Core seats by themselves;
- Pro is verified by a signed local license certificate tied to the activated Core device;
- once activated, Pro is designed to remain usable offline on that activated Core, subject to local certificate validity and these Terms;
- activation, deactivation, status checks, fraud prevention, recovery, and reset flows may contact ChromVoid licensing services and process limited license metadata described in the Privacy Policy;
- claiming or recovering a web or desktop license may create or reset a license account and issue a recovery code;
- the recovery code is an account credential that you must save and protect;
- the original license key may remain root proof for web or desktop license-account recovery;
- mobile store purchases are restored through the relevant app-store restore flow and not by entering a license key in mobile settings; and
- your license key is purchase material that you must protect.
ChromVoid may offer self-service deactivation or reset for lost, replaced, broken, reinstalled, or retired Core devices. Resets may include waiting periods, rate limits, anti-abuse checks, proof-of-purchase checks, or support review. ChromVoid may deny or delay resets that appear abusive, fraudulent, automated, resale-oriented, or inconsistent with the intended LDL model.
A Pro LDL is not a subscription. Direct desktop or web license-key activation may remain accountless, but license recovery and cross-platform entitlement sync may use a ChromVoid license account.
8. Updates and Feature Changes
For activated Pro LDL devices, ChromVoid intends to provide security and compatibility updates without a fixed end date for the purchased devices, subject to platform availability, technical feasibility, legal constraints, service availability, and these Terms.
A Pro LDL does not guarantee:
- every future ChromVoid feature;
- every future paid service, hosted service, professional service, enterprise feature, or major separately sold product;
- indefinite support for obsolete operating systems, browsers, app stores, hardware, or third-party APIs;
- uninterrupted relay, wake, checkout, licensing, or support services; or
- that all features will remain available in all jurisdictions, platforms, stores, or distribution channels.
ChromVoid may add, modify, suspend, deprecate, or remove features when needed for security, privacy, legal compliance, abuse prevention, platform changes, maintenance, product direction, or operational reasons.
9. Payments, Taxes, and Refunds
Paid ChromVoid products may be sold through merchant-of-record providers, app stores, payment processors, crypto checkout providers, resellers, or other supported purchase channels.
Payment providers and app stores may apply their own terms, privacy policies, refund rules, taxes, fees, dispute processes, and identity or payment checks. ChromVoid does not process card or bank details directly unless we explicitly say otherwise.
Unless mandatory law, app-store rules, provider rules, or written purchase terms require otherwise, purchases of digital licenses and digital access are final once delivered or activated.
ChromVoid may approve refunds or license remedies in limited cases, including:
- duplicate purchases;
- fraud or account/payment abuse;
- payment, checkout, or license-delivery error;
- failure to deliver the purchased license after reasonable support attempts;
- a mandatory legal right that applies to you; or
- another support-approved exception.
Refunds may require proof of purchase, license deactivation, provider cooperation, anti-fraud review, and reasonable processing time. Taxes, network fees, exchange-rate differences, payment-provider fees, app-store fees, or crypto transaction costs may be non-refundable unless required by law or provider rules.
10. Optional Services
ChromVoid may provide optional services such as relay, wake, remote-connectivity coordination, checkout, license activation, license status, waitlist, analytics, updates, documentation, and support.
These services may process limited service data and metadata needed to operate them. They are not intended to give ChromVoid access to decrypted vault contents or secrets.
ChromVoid may suspend, limit, rate-limit, block, or change services to:
- protect users, ChromVoid, or third parties;
- prevent abuse, fraud, spam, replay, scraping, unauthorized automation, denial-of-service activity, or license misuse;
- comply with law, court orders, sanctions, export controls, app-store rules, or provider requirements;
- perform maintenance or respond to outages;
- preserve service integrity or security; or
- retire or replace a service.
Some services may be experimental, beta, preview, region-limited, platform-limited, or dependent on third-party infrastructure.
11. Acceptable Use
You must use ChromVoid lawfully and responsibly.
You must not use ChromVoid to:
- violate applicable law, sanctions, export controls, privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, or platform rules;
- store, transmit, or manage material where doing so is unlawful for you;
- attack, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, probe, or bypass ChromVoid services, except where an applicable open-source license or written security policy permits lawful research;
- bypass paid-feature gates, license limits, seat limits, reset controls, or activation controls;
- share, resell, publish, or automate license keys or activation material in a way that defeats the intended license model;
- impersonate another person or organization;
- upload malicious code to support, checkout, website, or service channels;
- use relay, wake, or remote-connectivity services to harm others or evade lawful controls; or
- encourage or assist others in doing any of the above.
Privacy tooling can be lawful and legitimate. These Terms do not permit illegal conduct.
12. Security Limitations
ChromVoid reduces certain risks, but no system is perfectly secure.
ChromVoid does not promise that it is unbreakable, impossible to compromise, impossible to analyze, or guaranteed to protect you in every threat model.
ChromVoid does not protect against all risks, including:
- compromise of the device, keyboard, screen, operating system, browser, clipboard, firmware, or input path at the time you use ChromVoid;
- malware, keyloggers, screen capture, malicious browser extensions, or compromised dependencies outside ChromVoid's control;
- weak passwords, reused passwords, lost passphrases, lost recovery material, poor backup practices, or poor operational security;
- coercion, legal compulsion, repeated forensic snapshots, or physical access scenarios beyond the documented threat model and your operational discipline;
- mistakes made when copying, exporting, importing, sharing, syncing, backing up, restoring, or deleting data;
- outages, vulnerabilities, policy changes, or failures in third-party services, platforms, payment providers, app stores, push providers, browsers, or operating systems; or
- all metadata leakage, traffic analysis, timing analysis, or forensic evidence.
You are responsible for evaluating whether ChromVoid is suitable for your specific risk profile.
13. Your Data and Content
You retain ownership of your vault contents and other content that you lawfully create or store.
ChromVoid does not claim ownership of your vault contents. ChromVoid does not need decrypted vault contents to operate local vault features by default.
You are responsible for:
- having the rights needed to store, process, sync, import, export, or use your content;
- complying with laws and agreements that apply to your content;
- deciding what to back up, export, delete, or share; and
- any consequences of losing access to locally encrypted content.
If you send support messages, feedback, diagnostics, screenshots, logs, files, or other materials to ChromVoid, you grant ChromVoid the rights needed to receive, review, process, store, reproduce, and use those materials to provide support, improve ChromVoid, protect services, and comply with legal obligations. Do not send secrets.
14. Privacy
ChromVoid's handling of personal data and service data is described in the ChromVoid Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy is part of the product documentation, but these Terms and the Privacy Policy address different subjects. If there is a conflict about personal-data handling, the Privacy Policy controls for that subject. If there is a conflict about license, payment, acceptable-use, or service terms, these Terms control for that subject.
15. Intellectual Property and Feedback
ChromVoid, including its names, logos, product designs, proprietary services, commercial code, documentation, websites, and business assets, is protected by intellectual-property and other laws.
Except for rights expressly granted by these Terms, applicable open-source licenses, or a separate written agreement, ChromVoid and its licensors reserve all rights in ChromVoid.
If you provide ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, comments, or other feedback, you grant ChromVoid a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, modify, publish, distribute, and incorporate that feedback without restriction or obligation to you. This does not transfer ownership of your vault contents.
16. Third-Party Services and Platforms
ChromVoid may depend on third-party operating systems, browsers, app stores, payment providers, hosting providers, push providers, email providers, analytics infrastructure, and other infrastructure.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, availability limits, fees, rules, review processes, and technical restrictions. ChromVoid is not responsible for third-party services except where mandatory law says otherwise.
If you obtain ChromVoid through an app store or platform, that platform's terms may also apply. If those platform terms conflict with these Terms, the platform terms control only to the extent required by that platform for distribution through that platform.
17. Termination and Suspension
You may stop using ChromVoid at any time. You are responsible for exporting, backing up, or deleting your local data before uninstalling or deleting anything.
ChromVoid may suspend or terminate your access to optional services, license activation services, Pro entitlement services, support, or hosted features if:
- you violate these Terms;
- your use creates security, legal, operational, fraud, abuse, payment, or platform risk;
- we are required to do so by law, court order, sanctions, provider rule, or platform rule;
- a payment is reversed, disputed, refunded, fraudulent, or unauthorized;
- a license key, activation, or reset pattern appears abusive or unauthorized; or
- continuing service is not commercially, technically, or legally feasible.
Termination or suspension of hosted or commercial services does not remove rights you independently receive under applicable open-source licenses for open-source components.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections on local recovery risk, open-source components, payments, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law, dispute forum, and miscellaneous terms.
18. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChromVoid is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
ChromVoid does not warrant that:
- ChromVoid will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly secure, or available at all times;
- ChromVoid will meet every requirement, threat model, compliance need, or operational need;
- all defects or vulnerabilities will be corrected;
- your data will always be recoverable;
- optional services will always be available;
- third-party platforms, providers, browsers, operating systems, or app stores will continue supporting ChromVoid; or
- plausible deniability, encryption, sync, relay, backup, restore, credential provider, passkey, SSH, wallet, or emergency-access workflows will eliminate all risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties, remedies, or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChromVoid and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for loss of data, loss of secrets, loss of access, loss of business, loss of goodwill, service interruption, device compromise, or third-party conduct.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChromVoid's total liability for all claims relating to ChromVoid will not exceed the amount you paid to ChromVoid for the specific paid product or service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability, or USD 100 if you paid nothing.
These limitations apply to all theories of liability, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, warranty, and statute, even if ChromVoid has been advised that damages are possible.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intentional or wilful violations, fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
20. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChromVoid and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:
- your use or misuse of ChromVoid;
- your content or secrets;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of applicable law or third-party rights;
- your attempt to bypass license, security, service, or payment controls; or
- your use of ChromVoid for an organization without authority.
This section does not require consumers to indemnify ChromVoid where such indemnity is prohibited by mandatory consumer law.
21. Governing Law and Dispute Forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Before filing a claim, the parties should try to resolve disputes through good-faith support or written notice where practical. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive or protective relief.
Subject to mandatory consumer rights and mandatory jurisdiction rules that may apply to you, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or ChromVoid will be resolved in the competent courts of Yerevan, Armenia.
Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
For legal review, the official Armenian Civil Code is available through ARLIS: https://www.arlis.am/en/acts/205622.
22. Changes to These Terms
ChromVoid may update these Terms when ChromVoid changes or when legal, operational, security, platform, service, payment, or licensing requirements change.
When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide accessible notice where practical. Material changes will not retroactively reduce rights you already received under an applicable open-source license.
If you continue using ChromVoid after updated Terms become effective, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using ChromVoid.
23. Miscellaneous
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable purchase terms, applicable open-source licenses, and any separate written agreement between you and ChromVoid are the relevant agreement for your use of ChromVoid.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable part will be interpreted or replaced to best achieve its lawful purpose.
ChromVoid may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of business. You may not assign these Terms without ChromVoid's prior written consent, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
ChromVoid's failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
24. Contact
